Re: Calling all Turbocharged D16s!!! (J-Spec EG Sleeper)
not to be an *** but there have been quite a few posts on this in the last feek weeks. you can search for sohc turbo or d16 turbo or d series turbo or something similar and you can find a lot. anyway...
my old setup was on a T3 60 trim on a 2000 civic ex @ 6psi i ran 14.8 @ 93 with the clutch slipping it made 172whp/143tq @ 6psi and 194whp/164tq @ 8.5psi

video taped on the street my civic Dx sedan ran a 15.0 on 7.5psi and the stock DX motor, tranny, ecu. and a bad clutch. i spun it and some how brought it back to life. their has been a few hatch's running 14.0s at the dragway with under 10psi. ill be hoping for 12s with my current rebuilding project.

I ran 14.0 at 102 with a 2.2 60 foot. Setup was a stock d16z6 with a .63/.60 t3, starion fmic, uberdata 1.2 and 450s pushing 10 or 11 psi daily. The car is a heavy coupe with stereo system, full interior and jacks and tools and crap in trunk, also it had a stock exhaust with a shitty muffler. Building up a d16y8 shortblock for this spring right now.

Re: Calling all Turbocharged D16s!!! (Gravy)
My car pulled a 15 flat at 6psi (setup in sig?) and I didn't have a boost controller at the time to run it at it's current 11lbs, but it's much faster now... My friend's d15b7 hatch w/ greddy kit on the blue box also pulled a 15 flat at 5, 7, and 10lbs ( he had an ebc) but it was pining like **** @ 10lbs b/c he didn't have the fuel for it... so it didn't really make much of a difference. My z6 coupe + t3 and his y7 + greddy hatch pull right next to each other @ 10lbs on the highway... We are both expecting low 14's on street tires @ 10-11 lbs (street tires). We both were able to pull 2.2 60' times on stock clutches + street tires @ 17lbs air pressure. (185/65r14)

so thats the reality of it eh??? Thanks all for the replies. There was a guy, i think on this site, had a purple coupe, claimed low 13s on the track with a stock motor. Purple car, greddy kit with intercooler, and arp head studs... but looks like u guys arent even getting near 13s with the stock motor. How do you guys feel about a DRAG kit? I like it because it includes everything u need (to the best of my knowledge) But it seems most of u on this site do your own kits... I dont know, its a bit discouraging, I was expecting mid to high 13s at worst... Thanks again everyone, i just want a daily driven reliable car with the funnfactor of boost... running 13s would be a plus... any other comments? suggestions?

Re: (J-Spec EG Sleeper)
yeah you won't be running 13s on a stock motor.. especialy with a automatic..once i get my boost problem solved.. i hope to be in the mid 14s at 5 psi and a DOHC ZC in a 88 CRX..
are you set on a stock motor?.. do some upgrades mainly rods and piston's i say with about 10 psi and a good tune you could be very close to the 13s with a 5spd

Re: (JonGP4)
13's are easy with a stock motor, 200whp is easily achieved if you can put the power down ie get traction high 12's are possible in a reasonably light car. SEARCH

Re: (J-Spec EG Sleeper)
there was a gutted hatch at the dragway running 14.0s all day on street tires stock block, PVC piping for charge pipes, on a d16z6 i think he was running 10psi. but that thing had no interior. just 2 front seats and the factory dash. car was street legal. 13 are possible if u gut the car, run 10psi on a d16z6, with a T3 your a good driver and have slicks. otherwise mid 14s. but the good thing is its mid 14s with 28+ mpg.
