If you have the opportunity to go to the EFI classes , do it. Ben and Geoffrey know their ****.

When i was starting out, EFI U didnt exist yet....

however, i have sat in on several of the EFI classes, and they are a wonderful starting point if you want to learn.

precisely, his autism gave him the super human ability to tune cars, own every misfits shirt ever printed, and be a miniature version of the hulk at the same time haha

Jeff Evans has two speeds: walk and tune.

Jeff Evans can also tune a car, that has no engine

I say good engine knowledge and an understanding of how things work together in a modern EFI car helps alot.

Then experience and lots of trial and error help to. But I would say reading some books and attending some classes is a good place to start as well.

take the EFI class. I'm going to ask to go for my Christmas/birthday present from my parents and grandparents. I think it has information that may be missing in our knowledge... I think depending on who and how you learned, you will have strengths and weakness'

When I first started getting ready to tune my friend's turbo civic, I read a lot of books on engines (V8 stuff but figured it would still apply), I also read the manuals to several different engine management systems which provided the most information. After that I spent the next 6 months on the dyno with my buddy's car making run after run trying different things to see what happens. Taking lots of notes about the way the spark plugs looked like and EGTs and dyno numbers. After 5 years of experience and learning more and more, I took Ben Strader's EFI classes, and was suprised at how much information he gives in a couple of days. basically spoon fed years of experience in a couple of hours.

take the class.
