Default Bracing tubular ex mani's

To prevent cracks in the mani's do you guys brace the turbo/manifold from the top, bottom, any? I have a 85 GTI and putting a 3rd F/I engine in. After the tear down for a rebuild, I found an exhaust leak in my custom tubular exhaust mani, near the head flange. Do you guys support the mani or exhaust near the engine bay( under floor board). I think the back and forth motion of the exhaust system could attribute to manifold stress. Do you guys run into the same problems, or not really? Thanks again to Evans in Pa. for a great deal on a new turbo. cheers.
