Default Built z6???.

I was just wondering if you guys can just give me some ruff estimates on a Built z6.

I have a friend that wants to build his z6 bottom end for some serious boost. He's got a sleeved D16 block already, and some pistons and rods are on the way.

He just picked up the head from the shop. PnP, all new valve train, valves etc etc. He's running a t3/t4 with a lovefab mani, and hondata.

Now my question is, How much boost u think his motor would be able to hold with a setup like that?

Me and all are friends have a bet going on right now, and who ever is closet will win $250 bucks

30psi...

It's not boost pressure you should look at, but the power level. There won't be a magic number hp number or boost number. too many variables. compression ratio, tuning, etc.

So you guys are beting 250 bucks to how much boost his bottem end will hold? You are either A. Joking or B. Plain idiots or C. all of the above

Here is how you see how much psi this setup will hold
First get a coupling that will fit over the compressor (air intake) then get a pcv block off and stick it on the other side of the coupling so its sealed....then pick a vaccumm hose take it off and blow air into it via air compressor and watch the boost guage rise...it could hold 30psi ++ or more if your intercooler pipes and everything were very secure and had no boost leaks....then you can say hey my car hold 30psi cause in reality it did...btw this is how u do a boost leak test to make sure your setup will hold certain boost levels (charge pipes, etc).....

Now for the next step:

Take your hand, place it down your pants, and then pull until you can get that head of yours out of your *** and look at things as power as 5thgen told you...make a goal say 350whp and then see what happens?? car doesnt blow go to 400 hp and so on, when your engine goes BOOM then you know you reached its limit, goodluck with that bet...I bet yur buddy hopes no one wins for his motor sake

btw this thread is a waste of space

There is no theoretical limit to anything beyond the power level the rods are capable of holding, with proper tuning. The only thing that will kill a motor other than that is detonation. With no detonation, the theoretical limit of the parts is the motors limit. A sleeved motor should easily take anything you can throw at it, tuned properly...

The boost level will depend on a ton of variables, the key thing in here is all things must be working properly, with that being said, the "how much boost" question is borderline rediculous.
