Default built d16a6 stumbles a bit in top end...?

i have a d16a6 i my 90 hatch.. (srp pistons, eagle rods). the engine is tuned a bit rich, and conservatively right now, and i'm running 15-16 psi at full boost. when its 60-70 degrees, it pulls GREAT, all over.

when its colder (40-45 degrees) it pulls great in first and second (not much traction there anyways, and doesnt make full boost) and in third and 4th, it seems to stumble a bit between 5K and 6K rpms. kinda seems to stop running for a second. like i said, it SEEMs to only do this at full boost, full throttle, when its cold. even then, it isnt all the time. (cant floor it much on public roads anyways, but it was doing it at the dragstrip).

I REPLACED: coil (MSD external), cap, plug wires (w/honda OEM new), fuel filter.

everything seems to work fine, it runs perfect all through partial throttle (very sorted out partial throttle tune).

its not detonating, and just seems to stop running for a second, then pulls from 6-7 insanely hard......

any ideas? i might swap to a known perfect dizzy...if i can find one. i have another, but not sure of its condition. might try it.

injectors seem perfect, FPR seems perfect, fuel pump seems fine.

could it be timing with the tune? i believe we put a retard in for .6 degrees per psi.

could that be too much for the higher boost, thus killing the engine a bit?

at 55 degrees out, it was about 10.9:1 ish.

just a quick, rich street tune.

might be around the mid 11's i'm guessing at 40 ish degrees.

we'll be re-tuning the boost portion of the map soon...just wondering if anyone has seen this happen with igntion timing being the culprit. it literally seems to stop running for a split second.

Yea that isn't extremely rich or anything. Is it missing in the top end? Plugs gapped right?

plugs are bkr7e's gapped to .30

its just missing, seems like its only at the highest of boost ( cold cold weather, WOT, and high RPM)

try to gap them even lower. Maybe try replacing other stuff in the ignition.
