Yes if u want over 400whp on pump go with 9.0:1
there is an AWD dsm running around 8:1 and made 500awhp on pump gas!
Thats sick.

talked to Earl and I think that I am going to go with a custom 9.5:1 83mm CP piston, run a thicker head gasket, and mill the head to get the compression to around 9.3:1 or so.....
wow your setup is going to be great. i also had the greddy kit on gsr, blew it up at .97bar ~ 295whp.. im building up my block and went with 9:1 cp pistons 81mm bore
GT35E also!
cant wait to see your numbers, everything looks awesome..

Hi mate how much boost do you plan on running as with such a big intercoler you will end up with crap throttle response unless running over 18 psi of boost, I live in scotland and own a R32 GTR nissan skyline twin turbo, i am running only 1 bar of boost with a huge apexi Gt intercooler and my throttle response has suffered, just a little thought. Selling the skyline to get back to my roots with a EG6 civic possibly with a turbo.

"HOLD ON I AM GOING TO TRY SOMETHING"

most I am going to run is 18-20lbs, but that's why I am going to shoot for a 9.3:1/9.5:1 compression so that throttle response will still be there somewhat

hadn,t noticed the compression ratio should keep some half decent driveability off boost, bet your car will look the muts nuts with a IC of that size.

Dont get me wrong the skyline is simply amazin but running costs are gettin to be very very silly, over here in scotland our fuel prices are very expensive plus to tune a skyline effectively every time its atleast say $1500-$2000. My current level of tune is
Apexi gt intercooler
boost controller
apexi twin induction kit
kakimoto racing exhaust and front pipes
boost set at 1 bar
these are your basic stage one upgrade package which gives about 330-350 bhp, going further req,s mappable ecu, steel internal turbos (two remember) standard internals good for 450-500 hp,beyond that its steel internals time. There is one tuner over here in the Uk that spent £32,000 on the engine saying that it is the fastest GTR in the UK 1/4 mile in 9 seconds !!. Saying that i knew it at the time but you soon get used to the power as every body on this forum will agree.

why are u gonna mill the head then get a thicker head gasket? it cancels eachother out. ur supposed to mill the head if u wanna raise compression right? correct me if i'm wrong.
you mill the head to make sure that the head is flat and even basically. I see it more as a safety mod for the engine. Thicker the head gasket=less chance of me blowing it....
a r32's internals and stock turbos if the engine has been treated right should support up to 500hp if not more if tuned properly, tuned properly being the key word. i can imagine tuner guys dont get their hands on too many skylines, the guys from SP engineering just tuned their stock bottom end r33 to 710whp on stock turbos and stock bottom end. but hey i cant really talk im still driving a 00 Si, damn it must be nice! good luck with the r32 and dont even think about trading that thing in for a f-in eg

Hes not really going w/ a thick headgasket, its just a lil thicker then stock. It should come close to evening out after milling the head. Like he said hes milling the head to make sure its flat, not trying to raise compression on purpose.
