bspt tap?
where in the world would I purchase a 1/8" bspt tap to re tap the stock oil pressure sending unit into the block. The guy i bought the b16 off of put in a npt fitting and now it's leaking. I've called all the local plumbing stores around and can't find it anywhere. I even looked online for the most part and had trouble finding anyone who could help me. It's like honda is the only people who have ever used this type of fitting. what were they thinking anyway?

I have heard of alot of people running a 1/8 npt tap over the threads so that standard npt fittings will go into their.. I would either do that or drill it out and tap it to 1/4" npt..

Re: bspt tap? (tgreaves)
but if I tap it for npt then I will need an adapter to allow the stock sending unit to mount up correct? I can find an npt tap, but no adapters. and no bspt taps. this is making me scratch my head.
I read somewhere that a bspt male connector will go into an npt female connector and have no problems. is this correct?

Yes.. Get a 1/8npt male to 1/8bspt female adapter and you should be fine.. If you retap it to 1/4"npt then get a 1/4"npt male to 1/8"bspt female..

sorry, this is just the first time I've had to do this. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Well if all the threads are screwed up in the 1/8" size then your going to have to retap it bigger, The next step up would be 1/4"

I still dont think that the 1/8" tap is going to work.. Since the threads are screwed up your just going to ring them out.. I think your only option is to go to a bigger size and tap for that..

Go to autozone and get the sunpro oil line adapter kit. I think it has a 1/8 NPT->BSPT adapter (it definately comes with a 1/8 BSPT->NPT one...).
Use teflon tape or it will leak!
Heck if you use a good amount of hondabond you can probably get the stock sender to thread back in & seal without any adapter.
