Broken Axle?
I dunno if its suppose to be in this section or not..lol anyway my turbo civic tonight, went to accelerate from the line, took off and pop!, revs shot up and car wont move anymore....broken axle maybe? Car is just making a weird spinning noise now when i put it in gear but i cant move anymore. The motor is running fine, idling fine etc....has to be an axle what you guys think?

if someone is charging you $1000 to change an axel.... you getting ripped off big time.
stock axels are fine , you just have to preload the **** out of the tranny

Maybe you should call your mechanic. Anything that anyone will tell you on H-T will require you to, oh, I dunno, LOOK AT THE FREAKING CAR. It takes les then 5 seconds to look at both axles from the engine bay or even just laying down on the ground in front of the car. Using your senses (eyes, hands, etc) maybe even getting the brain involved in some thought would be a good start.

Re: Broken Axle? (XX Boosted Si XX)
if you got money why even ask ht what the problem is. that was one of the basic repairs. its like knowing what a oil change is when you know anything about a car. next time take your car to your mechanic or look at it. your rich use your money to fix it lazy *** bitch

Re: (paul vang)
jack the car up in front and spin the wheels by hand. if the axle is broke you will either hear it or the axle will bind then get loose and let the wheel spin more freely

Re: (BoostR41)
Cool thanks guys, for the guys that actually tried to help I appreciate it! Found out it was the innner part of the passenger side axle. No offense taken by the comment about the shops, some of us simply dont have time to learn or the mechanical skill involved in working on the car. This is the reason why I find myself less and less on honda-tech, because of all the smart *** comments by everyone and everyone thinks they are a expert. This is suppose to be fun guys! Lets enjoy!!
Anyway I could assume to think this thread is done....lol Sorry to post in the FI forum, figured the turbo guys could help with their experiences.

Re: (XX Boosted Si XX)
just learn the bare basics so you will know whats going on, it's for your own good. It's not to difficult. If your mechanic is a good guy he will tell you the basic things. With a boosted car you will come back to him anyway when it breaks.
