1. Has your car been properly tuned?
2. Do you have a wideband oxygen sensor gauge? If so what are your air fuel ratio at wide open throttle?

Yeah almost always ignition related. Either spark plug gap, or lean misfiring. Hopefully just the former. Gap no wider than 0.028" if 15psi or more.

Do NOT go into boost any further with your car until you can get it dyno tuned. Depending on what kind of power you're shooting for, your tuner will gap your plugs accordingly. .045" is too big of a gap, anyway.

What is your power goal? This will determine the heat range of your plug. For example, I ran NGK BKR7E (heat range-7) plugs with the old car (304 whp), gapped at .026". I run NGK R5671-8A (heat range-8) in the new car (445 whp), gapped at .028". Every setup is different, but just giving you a ball park range.

Talk with your tuner, and he'll choose a plug for you, based on your power goal. In the mean time, find out what NGK plugs you have in there now.

Start by changing plugs and yapping lower and get it tuned.

you don't need to retard anything. you need to get it tuned and your tuner will set your ignition timing.

I don't think he gets it, what state are you located in and we can point you to a good tuner!
