breaking in rebuilt turbo d series
im rebuilding a d16y8 with stock internals, and when i swap it i was gonna just throw the kit on while i was at it.. would i be able to break it in with the turbo on it? and how would you suggest i break it in

Put a solid tank of gas through it as a break-in period (about 300 miles in town, not freeway) Be easy on the boost and rpms, but dont be affraid to full throttle it.
Make sure you get tuned. And while your doing the rebuild, put in at least a set of pistons/ rods. For not much more than a few hundred bucks, you can ensure reliability of your engine; its at least worth your labor not to have to do the job more than once...
