I use a small drop of oil on the tip of the blue part so it slides in a little easier, and it takes some practice and pricked fingers to get good at it

it's so tight and when i get the hose in the red fitting somewhat and try to thread in the blue fitting, it just pushes the hose out. that's the part that aggravates me...

its aways good to put the hose in a vise so it wont move but only a little tight so it dont crush, then used a cresent to thread the other part in. I used to make a lot of these in the army.

army training is a joke. haha all the tms are basically dumby proof. anyways, if you dont have a vise, use some crescent wrenches. hold the blue 1 still, take the 1 on the red and turn that and push towards the blue. thats how i do it everytime.

all i did was spray some WD-40 on the blue and screw it on...it shouldnt push the hose back out of the red if its lubed a bit

normally the ends are already taped from when i cut them, so i just throw the red fitting in a vice and push the braided hose in, then begin to turn it...but remember the threads that grab the hose part are reverse.........

there is no threading in the red fitting. looks like a barb inside. not directional. i'll keep trying. gotta find someone with a vice...

The reason why it backs out is because you don't have the hose deep enough into the fitting.

no, that's not the reason. i realized i need to make a bevel cut on the inside of the hose. the blue fitting is pressing on top of the hose and just backing it off. can see the groove it's cutting into the hose.

You dont need a bevel cut. Straight cut will work fine. Make sure the hose is pushed all the way to the end of the red fitting before trying to screw on the blue. Beat it on the ground a bit if needed.

Are you using the same brand hose and fittings(i.e. Russell fitting and Russell line) Different fitting and hose brands sometime dont play nice together.

platinum.

I've used countless of mixed and matched fittings with summits hoses, no problems here. He just needs to pull the hose back out or cut another clean cut on it and try it again. It will work. Don't bevel the hose. Its not going to make it fit any better. It also may not seal properly. I get into this problem every once in a while. Just keep trying and locate the male side inside the hose first and then try it.

oil on the threads, a bench vice and a rag and patience.
or if you are a baller, use A-N wrenches.
