Default BOV not opening? HELP PLEASE

i know its not a honda, but the people here know alot and hopefully someone can help me out

1990 laser rs turbo

it came with a turboXS type H blow off valve. when you rev the motor the BOV dosent open. no air comes out of it anywhere (my finger was on the part that opens and it didnt open) but the intake does make a small hissing sound.

we bought a stock 1g BOV and hooked it up without the dump tube, it opens and makes a LOUD hissss but then it dosent close all the way and u can feel the air come out at idle (once its reved and opens it stays open). if i take the vac hose off the top of the stock BOV then it does close but its almost dies at idle.

its my roomates car and he wants the BOV sound, so he wont use the dumptube.

do you think the stock BOV is fucked? or will it work better if the dumptube is hooked up to it.

also the turboXS BOV is easer to open with my hand than the stock 1 is....

im lost i have no idea whats going on because im a honda guy.

PLEASE any help would be great.

should we look at a new greddy type s or something?

My car doenst blow off when I am just revving it either. You need to drive the car and just shift at like 3-4000 and see what it sounds like. Your BOV and dumptube shouldnt have much to do with eachother.

im talking about the DSM BOV dumptube. it hooks up to the BOV and sends that air back to the intake/turbo. they said its a much because the MAS thats right bhind the intake cone.
they said if its not hooked up the car will not get as much air as it needs and will run rich or something. but if thats true then how does EVERY DSM i see hisssss really loud?
