Default bov help please

ok so I have the turbonetics raptor bov and it has two ports on it. I installed the vacuum line from the IM into to the top port. However I left the bottom port open. Is this ok or is it crucial I connect the bottom port too. Because right now I hear the squeak sound of the bov opening. However right before that sound I hear another sound almost as if it is the beggining of compressor surge but this goes away right when the squeak sound comes in like a split second later. It is hard to explain. But I hope this description helps.

Please HELPPPPPPP iM DESPERATEEEE

You might want to back off the nut on top to make the blow off valve dump sooner...
