so i got this Apex'i Twin Chamber BOV for free and i would like to get it to work. if it is working, i can't hear it for ****.
first of all, do i have it set up right?

whenever i boost the car and pop the hood the ring is always moved from where i had it. could that be an indication that it is infact working?
i have the nut backed out almost all the way. should i tighten it in more or what?

i would like to get this to work instead of buying a new BOV.
all help is appreciated.

You are seeing the picture wrong. It is venting correctly.
1) The Twin Chamber BOV is VERY quiet, even at higher pressure levels. It was really never designed to be loud at all, which was a nice advantage.
2)The problem w/ this BOV is that the Red ring that had the opening was prone to move a lot, and would go from one apeture to another, or sometimes blocked it completely closed. This was inherently dangerous for 4G63 and 3S-GTE owners, who use larger pressure levels on smaller turbos. This is one of Apexi's products, that has disappointed me for years, due to a design defect such as that. I'm suprised it wasn't subject to strict product liability suits just for that design..
The solution unfortunately is to either see if you can get rid of the red apeture ring, or get another BOV and flange altogether. unfortunately, there is no other flange that shares the APexi's design.
