I have a stock turbo d16. I just got a chipped ecu with a basemap of my setup. After installing my injectors and walbro my car idles between around 1000 to 3000. I do not have a o2 on the car and am running open downpipe but will that cause the idle to bounce? or is it the ecu

Base maps are just that. A base line to get the car started and drive to your tuner or begin the tuning process yourself.

Anyone worth his salt in this forum, the same forum that you are asking for help in, will never condone running with a basemap for any length of time past driving it to the tuner. So I'm guessing you're going to cheap out with engine management along with your Ebay parts.

I'm also guessing whatever school you're going to doesn't stress punctuation nor correct grammar.

A base map is just to get the car running and to the tuner.


And some obd2 cars with an obd1 ecu have IACV issues that make the idle funky

Every ones motor/ tune or base map is different. You need to dyno tune the motor!! its a turbo kit on the motor with after market injectors running on a base map! it will never run/idle correct.
