Bought a ls block with a 98 gsr head. A T brass fitting was welded to the block where the oil pressure sensor originally plugs into, feeding oil for the gsr head, and the oil switch.

On my current motor, I use this T fitting to supply oil to my turbo.


I read some where that you don't need to use this switch, is this true? If I don't need it.. Lets say I put my oil feed to the turbo where the oil sensor was, so this T is feeding the vtec line and the turbo, would this be okay? Is there enough oil pressure to supply the oil needs of both the head and turbo?

The car will run without it plugged in. The stock oil light only comes on if pressure drops below 5psi. I would buy a sandwich plate to supply oil to the head and put an after market oil pressure gauge on to keep an eye on it.

I ahve always heard that its OK to feed oil for the turbo from the pressure switch location, but not for an LS/VTEC conversion(not enough flow)... Youre supposed to use a sandwich adapter for LS/VTEC.

If you just bought the motor I hope yyour taking the oil pan off and inspecting the rods..
Long story short some kid I know bought an lsv from craigslist last week.. I showed up to help and the kid was just gonna drop it in and go and I had to stop him... We took the pan off and the number 4 rod was missing a bearing all together and the other one was paper thin,and the crank ruined, ontop of that I took the head to the machine shop and the head had 2 bent valves to go with it

Inspect the motor before u swap it.

The motor was rebuilt and has roughly 2k miles on it.
The wrong bearings were used so im going to replace them, also i already
Planned on changing the rods and Pistons.

I will buy a sandwich plate for the turbo oil feed. Are you sure its not
Safe to use the oil pressure sensor port On the block for the vtec oil feed? Cause thats what the Previous owner used.

You have it backwards. You want to use the oil pressure sensor location for the turbo feed line, and the oil sandwhich plate for the lsvtec. Unless you have a GE sandwhich plate then youd be fine

if you get a sandwich plate i recommend the MFactory one. i had lots of issues with the golden eagle leaking
