LOLz going fast isnt cheap.. reliability isnt cheap

cheap
fast
reliable
^
pick 2 and the 3rd is what its not

And if your going to do all that, then might as well get pistons too, shot peen the LS rods or buy new ones. You can get a piston/rod combo for 750 area. but yea... its possible.

One of my favorite comments because it is so true!

As ole timmy said I wouldn't buy someone else's build unless it was a reputable company selling it. I was hesitant to buy my GSR swap with out seeing it in a car running because I have no idea of what kind of life the motor has had. Fortunately I really lucked out on my swap. It turned out being a mint block that was well taken care of just buy what I have checked out.

Stock, healthy LS can make 300whp no mods, no problem and should last a long time with a good tune and regular maintenance. I have a friend making 336whp, 100% stock LS. Beats it everywhere he goes (lol) whether on the street or at the strip. It's been going strong for a couple years now.

omg how many times do i have to say a stock block is good to 300 before u will believe it lol. i have a bone stock gsr that i beat the **** outta every day. also theres a guy on here that was making 488 hp on a stock block for awhile before he broke a rod. they are pretty stout motors.

I have a built b16 head, but I kinda messed up tapping it for my b20 vtec set up.. in short, its a permanent ls or b20 vtec head. would a gsr block make more power and possibly last longer than an ls?

By the sound of things, none of them will last long in your hands, bro. I think you're more of an "N/A IS BEST!" kinda guy now.

Built short block ready for up to 500hp. $1595. This will be over kill for 300, but will give security and allow future upgrades without rebuild after you get tired of 300.
