Default Boring stock head gasket for use with larger bores?

I measured a stock CRV headgasket and the bores measure ~84.80mm. I am assuming this is because it gets squished in a little when you tighten the head.

So if I wanted to use a bored CRV gasket with 85mm bores, would I want to bore the gasket to 85.80mm?

buy a cometic 85
boring stock gaskets is not as reliable as a gasket made for your bore.

i agree with him why not just buy the Cometic... at least for piece of mind. You dont want to skimp when it comes to a build up.

I am not skimping on anything. I could care less about the price. Many guys recommend using stock headgaskets, even on high power cars.

fyi: I already have a cometic gasket.

Just use the CRV head gasket as is.

Even for 85mm pistons?

The gasket will protrude into the combustion chamber and might be hit by the pistons.

The gasket should only be hit by the pistons if you lose a connecting rod bolt or bearing.

This is a valid question, nobody has really answered it yet either. I have the same concern. I have an 89mm bore in my h22. There are no 89mm oem gaskets. I thought GE reccomends to use an oem with their copper o-ring, which is what I have. So what are my choices?

Give cometic a call and they can make you a gasket with any bore you need.
