cometic head gasket, stock head gasket thicknes...
anyone know the thickness of a stock h22a4 head gasket? i need a new one, can't decide if i should go stock or cometic. if i go with a VERY slightly thinner one to offset a slightly-lower-than-desired CR (due to piston choices), will i need to adjust anything else?
thanks in advance.......................
and btw, wtf is the h22 gasket SO MUCH more expensive than others? it's like $150+!!

Re: cometic head gasket, stock head gasket thicknes... (dustin)
indeed it is; i was referring to the cometic one, which i saw for $185.95 at race engineering... but then i noticed that's for a .098" 88mm gasket. the 87mm, .030" cometic gasket is only $65.
so, what's the thickness of the stock head gasket? i can't really tell how it would be measured from looking at mine.

A stock Honda head gasket is .32 thousands of an inch. Atleast that is what it is for B series motors. I am sure it will be the same though. Why don't you go direct to Cometic. You should talk with them first because my brothers head gasket is still on backorder with those guys. I can't complain though for the price they charge.
Good luck!
