Would it be a bad idea to boost a z6 built to 10.5:1 on low boost like 8 lbs as a daily/street car?

10.5:1 is the new 9:1

 

 

First off 10.5:1 is not high compression more of a middle compression. Second PSI means nothing 8 PSI on one turbo is not the same as 8 PSI on another. Have a goal on what you want to get out of the motor. Now to answer your question yes 10.5:1 is totally safe to boost.

 

Go talk to a tuner.
