Boosting Stock Z6
I have a stock d16z6 with 160k on it, it has a slight lifter tick compression is 160 on all 4 cylinders, it has no leaks everything runs well all OEM gaskets... Would it handle low boost? With a cometic head gasket ARP head studs and better fuel pump and injectors?
I don't want anything crazy, I'd be happy with 160whp so like 6lbs or something...
Should I have my engine rebuilt first or would I be able to run like this for now and upgrade the internals later down the road if needed?

It sounds healthy. Do a good valve adjustment and get a nice small turbo and 160whp would be pretty safe. You could go up to around 180hp and not stress it much more. The weak point are the noodle rods. Get a good tuner. Your goals are modest and well within what the stock bottom end can handle
yeah sounds reasonable to do for sure. I wouldn't even qorry about arps and a new hg for 160whp unlrss there is an issue currently. I would adjust those valves and see if the tick goes away first though and also look to get an upgraded clutch
I turboed my stock Z6 that had around 180,000 miles on it. Made 191hp 173ftlb tourqe without headstuds.
I was happy with the power and it lasted 4 months of hard driving and every weekend at the drag strip. Ended up spining a rod bearing.
Rebuilt it with all forged internals and ARP headstuds and returned it at 12psi and made 210hp.
