Default boosting stock sleeves b16a

I just got my motor recently and I couldnt make up my mind if i wanted boost or na....well i decided to go with some boost and with boost comes ALOT of research so heres where ill start...

I wanted to boost about 10psi into my b16a (jdm sir1) how long are these sleeves going to last? (daily driver too)
I feel like this is a dumb question but; can you order sleeves from a company and have a local machine shop install them?

I was talking to a buddy he had a gsr with 10psi with a stock bottom end (minus rods and pistons)he didnt resleeve but he only got to drive it for a few before it got taken away....
Just curious guys thanks
Nick

I made 231 at the wheels on stock sleeves. I jsut upgraded my turbo, Manifold, and a buncha other parts... All on stock sleeves.

15 psi SHOULD net me about 325+ on the new setup.

Sleeves shouldn't have any problems, I'm worried about my rings.

Im just very concerned if i should just leave the bottom stock and just throw aftmarket pistons and rods in, and do all the machine work to the head for good air flow...what do you guys think......and how many miles do you guys have on these turbo setups with OVER 10psi?

I thought about that too.. stock sleeve + 9:1 CR pistons + rods + block guard.. and maybe 15psi?

Anyone? (sorry to jack your thread.)

i have been thinking about this recently as well(due to the insufficient funding to sleeving a block right now) I'm thinking that 15psi on stock sleeves w/ some good pistons and rods would be no problem at all. A friend of mine Jimmy ran 15 psi and a 50 shot on a bone stock b16 w/ some big injectors and retarded timing. lasted about 3 weeks, when the ringlands went out. sleeves were still intact. In fact, most b16's i've seen blown up were just the pistons crumbling, i think with that high of compression the pistons are the weak point.

I just turbo'd my sir1 with stock motor with hondata and i got 254 whp @ 6 psi and 276 whp @ 8 psi. It was tuned pretty conservatively on pump gas (91 octane). its not so much how many psi you're running its more relative to how much power you're making as to whether you'll blow your sleeves. get a good setup and get it tuned for for race and pump gas. just don't run the motor too hard and it'll last for quite awhile

yeah that sounds good; im going to take my chances then, hopefully with good head work and real low pistons 8:5:1 or even 8:1 and a block guard ill be good to go....thanks for your help guys!
