Default Boosted LS VTEC??

Does any one know how well a JR supercharged LS block with a stock bottom end and B16 head would hold up? CR should be 9.5:1. Could it be run to 8,000 RPM without any problems? Just weighing my options. Thanks

LS Vtecs and CrVtecs are fine if you build them right.
I have built CrVtecs and reved them till they don't rev anymore, And boosted them too.
It's all in correctly building them.
I would stay closer to 10-1 compression if you can.

My set up is a LS Vtec bored to 84mm with a type R head, Check my sig......

When you say "build them right" what do you mean? Just curious. I do know how to build them (I work for a Honda dealer) But I have never built a boosted Honda.

pistons, rods should do the trick. Proper management is probably more important that ANYTHING.

LsVtec to me is not reliable as it is, but once you boosted, it gets even worse..Dont get me wrong if you do it correct and build your motor correct then it will work. Just from experiences that is what my opinion is based on....

So basically for an LS VTEC to be very reliable under boost then I would need to install some forged pistons and rods? I was wanting to just use factory parts (LS pistons and rods) and run a JR supercharger on a B16 head at around 6 pounds. I don't want to do it if it is unreliable though. Thanks
