ok guys i had an ls integra with like 100 million miles on it and it blow up so i found this 95 civic hatch that i got for $1000 and it too damn slow i mean i thought my interga was slow but this is worse, my cousin told me to do an ls swap i guess the same motor that was in the integra, but he told me the stock sleeve and internals of the ls can handle 27 lbs of boost, is this true...?? if so how come everyone doesnt do this, he said some dude smoked a viper with this, i saw the video so i know its true but come on 27 ilbs of boost??
thanks guys

Definately, just go ahead and get a loan

Ls's can handle 27 pounds of boost...but they will have new sleeves, pistons, rods, head studs, valvetrain and just about anything else you can possibly buy for the engine, not to mention a great management (aem preferred
)
if you swap an LS in yer hatch and maybe throw 5psi at it, it will dip HARDCORE (compared to what you are used to driving). Get a small kit on there and go from there

thats what i was thinking, i dont know anything about the one that raced the viper thats just what my cousin told me and he seems to know somewhat what hes talking about. ive been in a competition with this kid with a turbo si its a cool car and what not it put down like 342whp and he thought he could take my vette but we proved that wrong so know i want to be able to take him in my daily drive, thats why i was thinking boost because you can turn it down when needed, how much do you think i would need to beat this si, keep in mind his take of is **** but as soon as he hit second gear its pretty sick
thanks guys

What a stock LS can handle depends on the size of the turbo and the fue manageent. With a smaller turbo that is flowing that many CFM's and the right fuel management a stock LS could probably handle over 15 psi. Heck, a stock D series motor can handle with good management (uberdata) can handle 15 psi if tuned correctly.
I have had my ls motor running up to 17psi before, but this was only for a short time on race gas to make a couple 1/4 mile passes...As mentioned allready, there are way to many variables with this question...Yeah, my car handeled 17 psi for a short while, but that was with running the greddy 18g turbo which is alot smaller than most people run...Cfm has alot more to do with it than psi does...
damn dude you ran an 11.75???
how much was your kit if you dont mind me asking? im looking to do this right but dont want to spend to much money on it my wife is already pissed because the interga blow up, im looking at maybe $4000 if possible i found an ls motor for $875 with no more then 35,000 miles so if i can make it run high 11's to low 12's with $4000 that would be perfect.
