Default Boosted b18c hatch

Just looking for idea's and such. Swapped a b18c1 into my 92 si hatch. Round 150,xxx kms on the swap. My question is would I be stupid to turbo it. Its not my daily, just track/autocross/summer car.

Just thinking a small turbo, t25 or something like that with around 8psi on it. Only thing I did was waterpump, timing belt and such before I swapped it in. The motor seems pretty solid, doesnt burn much oil at all and ive been running it for a few months now. Just want more power haha!

Now I would probably go with a cast manifold, garrett t25 with internal wastegate (or similar), Tail bov, ebay intercooler piping and intercooler and a 2.5'' exhaust. Would be a budget build for now. What kinda power could i expect. 250ish? Also whats a decent tuning solution for relatively inexpencive...

Any ideas and stuff would be awesome.

I wouldn't use anything smaller than a t28, personally. I like small turbos but that seems small for a 1.8 liter at 8k.

Ya i guess that makes sense! T28. With 150,xxxkms or so you think I should still be fine for turboing tho?!?!

Mileage is irrelevant other than to determine whether or not the supplemental components (hoses, fuel lines, wiring) are in good order to take the additional stresses of forced induction. If the engine itself has been properly maintained over the course of the length of time you've had it, sure... Leakdown and compression tests, replacement parts maintenance, etc..

Cool! So pretty much as long as the motor has been well taken care of and a proper turbo kit is used with a tuning solution, I should be fine

You can't go by looks alone, do a compression test and leak down

^this
If compression and leak down numbers are solid you should be fine

OP. I have a really greddy turbo manifold that I've gasket matched and lightly ported, t25 flanged. If you're interested

Chrome pro nice tune and a cheap kit. Go e85 and you should yield well over 250. Just make sure you go with name brand parts. I'd would gon3"
Exhaust as well.
