Default boosted b16b

planning on boosting a b16b in my hatch.... question is what is the safest amount of boost i can do without doing damage to the motor. i know compression is 10.8:1 which is fairly high. i am doing aftermarket headgasket and little things for extra insurance. oh yeah i will be tuning on hondata s300. any knowledge will be great!

people on stock motors usually run around 8-12psi without worry, or atleast that is going to be the most common answer. i ran 8psi on a stock gsr motor with a greddy kit for almost year with no problems. with a good tuner and a strong motor to start with its really up to you but the cast stock pistons will most likly what holds you back.

you should be fine on 8-10 psi like just get a good tune and have fun with it...plus you said you are gettin a headgasket and get some arpheadstuds so that you dont have to worry about the head liftin

depends on the size of turbo, if you ran a gt-42r on 10psi you probably would get 350ish whp compared to a tdo4 probably like 260whp

I have tuned a lot of 300 whp stock b series and have found it to be a safe power level.

If you're in VA I would recommend Chris (Hondata Crome Etc) or Brad Brooks (AEM EMS DSM Link Etc). Great tuners
