Default Boost vs. Compression Table

I borrowed this table from team-integra.net (thanks BoostControl). I'm curious as to how one would calculate this table. I'm looking to carry it out a bit further (say to 11:1 compression). Anyone got any thoughts as to how to calculate it, or just thoughts on the table in general?

This is the link the page on team-integra.

easy just take

BOOST LEVEL / 14.7 = ____ + 1 = ____ * COMPRESSION RATIO = that number, called effective compression

if does say for non-intercooled, my compression seems to be way out of safe zone for that graph, its not even on there...

btw, the BS-o-meter is off the charts...
for example lets say stock greddy kit for a 95 civic non intercooled...
5.5psi / 14.7 + 1 * 9.6cr = 13.2 effective compression.... so that means the civic geddy kit is unsafe and that you would have to buy a boost controller and turn the greddy kit down to 2psi to make sure its safe

Yeah, I'm not really interested in what this guy considers safe... I'm more interested in what my effective compression would be. I agree, the "safe zone" numbers seeem a tad conservative.

boost controllers can not turn down boost. they can only raise it.

Yeah, I actually had a discussion with that guy. He's really conservative when it comes to boost. He was suggesting to somebody to not run higher than 7psi on a b18b with 9.0:1 pistons, eagle rods, 220lph fuel pump, on a tuned s-afc hack with 450's.

And then only ~12 psi once it's sleeved.

I wonder why so many people are afraid to run higher boost?
