Default boost/vac gauge questions

i installed a auto meter boost/vac gauge on my integra the other day and heres the thing.
- vac reads at 22
- when i step on the gas pedel the vac needle does not go towards 0
- when i full throttle it in 1st gear it takes about 2 sec for the neddle to jump to 0 (its stays at 22 then just jumps up to 0 rite away after 2 sec)
- full throttle in any other gear vac does not go towards 0
so what should i check for? or is the gauge broken? i bought it brands spankin new so ya

22 is about normal.

about it not moving correctly. are you sure a line is not pinched somewhere.

Where are you getting your vac. source from?

If I had to guess, I'd say you installed it on the brake booster line AFTER the inline check valve and the check valve is keeping any vacuum from escaping.

got it to work. i noticed that only when i hit around 6k rpm that it will jump to zero... so then i realized that i t'ed off where the butterfly valve is at. so then i un t'ed that and t'ed it to antother vacume line and all works fine now.
