i have a crx jdmb16 wit t3t4 turbo, wit all the bolt ons, stock internals, running aem ems 30-1040u. going to get tuned, how much boost should i run?? got the gm boost solenoid , and 3 bar map....

 

If tuned right you can run up to 300whp on a stock B16. There is no set amount of boost. Do a search and you'll find many threads with the same topic.

 

Try searching first man.. You'll get all your answers there.

 

It horsepower you need to worry about not boost. But just keep it under 300 and it should be fine. As long as you dont run it at 300 all the time.

 

u should be ok on eight to ten pounds but don't push it..make sure u buy high octane gas also...and u not running lean up top or TOO rich..

 

Boost as much as you need to to get the hp/tq you are looking for.

 

thanks guys, i think im goin to just tell the tuner to make 285 whp, however much boost it takes

 

i made 340, on a stock b16 and it lasted for 6 months until i got boost happy. that was with 11 psi

My first guess would be Ringlands

 

yes your correct!! the ringland on cyl 3 went. but i was good untill i upped the boost with no further tuning. But it still went 13.0 @104 with 60 psi of compression

Yep, Detonation.. Always happens on the leanest cylinder(#3)..
