Default SAFC-II or V-AFC?

I've got a choice I have to make within the next week or so; I am currently running ZC (non vtec) but future plans might include a (96-98) vtec head on an overbored stock block (88-91). My question is, Can I run a VAFC on my ZC? I realize I don't have vtec on this motor but is it worth it to run this controler for fuel delivery instead of the SAFC-II? Or do I have to have vtec in order to operate the fuel system? Does anybody know where I'm comming from?

The only difference between the VAFC and the SAFC is the VTEC control. Without VTEC don't waste the money.

Then, the SAFCII is better than the SAFC/VAFC, with more options and better corrections. But for a turbo... There are better options out there.

I realize the SAFC II is better, but for future plans, what can be done for vtec control? Vtec is new to me, I only have one close friend with it and he knows even less than I do. I read something the other day about engaging vtec with one wire. Is this system reliable or should I depend on a multifunctional unit that already does it well? With that said, does anybody know if I can run the SAFC II and later hook up a primitive Vtec control unit along with the SAFC II, or for that matter would I even need vtec control?
