Default boost & high compression

ok guys i built a b16 with arias 12.1 pistons, eagle h beam rods, deckguard, 340cc injectors, hondata s200,& all bolt ons. wanted to get 200 whp b16, but it is just to slow. i was thinking of nos but dont want to be aggravated with filling the bottle. my question is would it be possible to boost this motor reliably or im i just **** out of luck. im not wanting to do ne thing outrageous like under 10lbs & a small turbo maybe even supercharged.

Don't go with a small turbo.

1) Small turbos have lousy efficiency, and heat the air more at higher boost levels.
2) You will spool the **** out of it, and create detonation with super-heated intake temps.

Stay away from superchargers.

1) The positive displacement type is the only kind that's worth the effort on small engines, but it heats the **** out of the air.

You might want to consider getting new pistons, and removing that blockguard while at it.

If not, then try getting some good to tune it, and run some form of alky or water injection. I prefer alcohol myself, because it burns too. Water can be tricky, and it's hard to get the metering 'just right'. Your best bet is to find a way to get those intake temps as low as possible, that's the safest way to run higher compression with boost.

Thats the only way. Top Fuel cars run 14:1 compression then they run 26psi out of that big blower on top of it. It's all about tuning. But it's not going to happen on pump gas.

NO tuner is going to make that happen reliably unless you run methanol. Put a thick headgasket on it or change the pistons...

Lol. Top fuel cars run WAY more boost than that.

i dont really know much about alcohol injection but would that be more efficient than an intercooler sprayer.... and what kind of head gasket would u guys reccomend & around what compression would it take it down to

I would try and get it to around 9 - 9.5:1 with the headgasket.

just rev your b16 higher, i would say keep it all motor and rev to 10,000. would bottom end can handle it just upgrade you valves and springs

You can rev an N/A b16 all you want, but it still won't compare to a turbo B16.

so would it be worth the time & money to try & boost it bc it will be expensive, or would say a 75 or 100 shot be more logical with reliabilty in mind

i would put in lower compression pistons if you are going to turbo it.

yea that would be the smart thing but i dont have another car to drive to work while the new pistons would be put in......& i didnt have the money at the time of the build for a turbo wish i would have done things differently.. oh well i guess nitrous it is.

Or they run about 45 psi of boost and 6.0:1 compression! Close though!
