Default Boost finally got me.....

Just got my car tuned and have been happy with it. Well lately I have been noticing oil leaking out my valve cover breather. I replaced the tube with the little filter that sticks directly on the valve cover. Anyway, it has been slowly leaking out. I figured the filter has become saturated and started leaking. Well tonight after a few spirited runs with a friend, my intake manifold has oil laying on it. Seems to be getting alot worse. Also I could see smoke coming out the breather while it was idling...I was almost a quart low from the loss of oil under WOT....?

So I am assuming my rings are causing blowby?

Any help suggestions, anything?

no. if you see it while idling you= fooked.

tis blowby.

and you shouldnt be losing that much oil that quickly.

afc hack sucks

time for another stock bottom end or some forged internals.

My compression comes back fine, and it runs so strong. It looks like the rings would be toast, but I would think the car would run bad and or my compression would be really down....??

Get yourself a catch can and use that to get rid of your stock PCV system.

Its prob your ring lands cause my car does the same ****. But my comppression sucks. 120 in 1-3 cyl and 45 in #4 and I still drive my car every day. I even ran the valve cover breather under my car with a hose from homedepo to stop the blowbye smoke from killing me. blowbye=badass buildup

Are you sure you did the compression check right? It sure does sound like ringlands. It can run fine with the ringlands cracked also. You are definately getting blowby though, so solutions other than a catch can should be sought.

yeah its probably your ringlands... compression test doesnt tell if the ringlands are bad or not because when I blew my stock motor only one cyl (#3) had low compression, the other three were fine...

when I pulled the head and pistons out, all of the ringlands were broken. the worst one was cyl #4...

sounds like your ringlands were cracked but you kept driving it, then they finally broke off the piston and now you may have scared cylinder walls...

time for a kick *** build up

I found another car....friend gave it to me....I put some belts did the basic mantenice and now it runs...so here as soon as I can...gonna pull the head and see whats up...

I figure while I have the head off, I will be getting new pistons/rods.

Anyone have any advice on the brand and where to get em....?

Price is important...being in school I don't have alot of cash....

Thanks guys...appreciate it....
