im using a stock mistu wastegate on a 14b turbo, the wastegate worked at one point and held, what would cause the boost to hold tell 5 grand and then start to creep hard?

the internal wastegate is your problem. Get an external tial wastegate.

ha... i've always had trouble with 14b's not holding boost... anyway. here's some suggestions.

A) you don't have a 14b, you have a 16g because t25 & 14b wastegates open between 6-8psi, 8psi being the max on about 10 dsm/honda setups i've done. My first turbo kit was a 16g on a D16y7 and it did exactly what ur describing.

B) You have clocked ur turbo or moved ur wastegate in someway. I always had clearance problems with the wastegates or compressor outlets, and once you move it, you change the way the wastegate functions (boost to)... if this is the case, remount ur wastegate.

C) Your wastegate is broke

if your vacuum for ur wg is off the manifold, this could be a problem. I just recommend moving ur wastegate or bending it/bracing it. the close the actuator is to the arm, the less boost u get. I wouldn't purchase an external wastegate for your setup. Save ur money and upgrade to a better setup. If all else fails, use a spring on your wastegate. Do a search on here or im me if you need help... Late

The only thing I would have done different when I first built my kit is getting a tial wastegate, instead of using my internal. Being able to control your boost is pretty important if your pushing your motor to the edge. A little spike or creep and you could have a blown motor.
