Default Boost control option on JDM ECU

Is it true that you can't run boost control option on a JDM ECU? Got a P30 OBD1 ECU from UK 1994 B16A2 car and was told that I can't run a boost control option on it and would have to use USDM ECU instead !!!

Go to hondata.com it clearly states you can't run pwm control on a JDM ecu.

http://hondata.com/s300boostcontrol.html

All US ECUs have the circuitry, but not components, for the PWM (pulse width modulated) output. JDM ECUs do not have the circuitry and cannot be used.
