BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
just wondering if anyone is running a t3/t04E + 38mm tial wastegate on their b series with a/c and p/s on here, i would like to know how they fit.
Do i need to shave the block for the turbo or use an elbow for the WG.
TIA

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
you will have to shave the block to fit that size turbo, depending on the angle the blox mani sets the turbo you shouldnt really have to shave that much off. As for the WG, you dont need the elbow, i know the Tial WG it big but it will work. oh unless the angle of the blox mani makes it so that you have to shave a lil off the head. ive seen some that had to do it, and some that didnt, so not really sure. I run a inlinepro mani and the way the angle is set, i had to shave the block but didnt have to shave the head to fit the tial WG.

oh damn, u recommend any log mani's that dont require shaving and A/C P/S compatible,
i was looking into the spoolin' ones, just wondering if theres a cheaper route to go.

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
umm not sure. on most log mani's, most of the time you have to shave the block. its really not that big of a deal. if your gettin it done at a shop im sure they will do it for you with no charge, but if you do it yourself then it just takes some time to shave off and have a fit and if not right , then shave a lil more and try fit again, untill you get it.
ive hread good and bad things on spoolin and not sure on the shavin of the block, but im sure you still have to with any log mani's, the way it fits so close to the block and needing the turbo is be set at a angle just so that it would fit.
which spoolin mani you lookin at? log only? i dont like any of the log from spoolin but the rest are good. but thats just me

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
yeah im looking at the spoolin log ones mainly because i want things simple, i have a ramhorn right now from my old setup but its not AC friendly.
it looks like the blox one is set in angle so it would clear the block but maybe my turbo is a lil big to clear.
its not that i can't do it, i just don't like the idea of having to shave the motor. i wanna try and buy things that actually fit without having to cut or relocate things unlike my older setup/car.

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
Yea i can understand that. but most of the time when puttin together your own kit, something has to be done to make it fit as you know with your 1st set up.
if im lookin at the spoolin log right, the 1st one doesnt set the WG in the middle (which i dont like) and the 2nd one does (which is always what i would pick for a log type mani.)
yea i saw the blox how it angles but i really think you are going to have to shave the block to fit that size snail.
that SPfab Log Mani seems like its angled up, so it seems like you wouldnt have to cut anything. but i wonder with that size snail of yours would fit. naw i think it will work for you. besides theres a lot of ppl that like that mani when it comes to log style.

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
the blox one has to shave the entire webbing off. its a good design in terms of wg location etcc
on a vtec head you need to run a wastegate elbow
on the turbo you have to run a 5 bolt turbine wheel . preferably t3t4E compressor housing ( will not fit an S housing turbo 4 inch inlet 2.5 outlet)

kranky which turbo u running? u got any close pics of the clearance issues?
what does 5 bolt work and 4 bolt doesnt? isnt the problem the compressor side of the turbo which is on the passenger side?
thanks guys.

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
4 bolt turbine housing *( outlet*) places the turbo on a tighter tanginal ( tighter scroll) while the 5 bolt is more " centered" tanginal design.
i guess to put in simple words. the 4 bolt places the turbo farther into your block when mounted in the ac configuration-- which is compressor on passanger, turbine/exhaust on driverside

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
you have an inline pro manifold. comparing apples to oranges, the blox manifold sits closer to the block and 1/2 inch lower
you cannot fit the GT3076R on the blox manifold
the GT3076R ( the real one at least) uses a 4inch inlet w/ ported shroud compressor housing = takes up too much space. wont fit

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
I have a blox with a precision sc34 and tial 38mm on my ls in a dc. No wg elbow but its real close to the valve cover and the hood... but it clears...ac and ps...2.5" dp but I know people run 3"...
Yes I had to grind the block webbing and id plate. Not a big deal, just some time with the angle grinder.

Heres the pic of the mani next to the shaved block, as you can see its not that bad.
The 2nd pic is just to show you the tight fit, but i think you know tat already lol.

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
apples to oranges. thats not a GT30R just a std garrett t3t4 looks to be and its not a blox manifold. not design the same. and you wont ever fit that GT30 on a blox mani . not in the same configuration you have above

Re: BLOX manifold turbo/WG fitment.
mistaken and got mixed up a few posters here in the forum.
FYI to the OP inertia, the blox does not sit anywhere close to the inlinepro/revhard manifold design
