Default blown turbo questions

Im just wondering. it didnt happen to me or anything but say someone bought a crappy ebay turbo, dyno tuned it, got hondata s300 and all, ran it for a while, and eventually blew it. what if they bought a greddy turbo, turbonetics, or whatever turbo is good and it was the exact same size (50 trim, t3/t4).

do they have to retune it?

also if they had like 440cc injectors and got 550cc injectors after they tune it, would they have to retune? i think yes but a friend of mine and i were arguing over it so i need professionals to answer!!!

Changing injector size he will need to retune it, and putting a new turbo on i would retune also.

^+1. Just becuz a turbo is the same size their can be differences in design. For ex. A small .50 ar turbo journal bearing and the same from another company except bb. It would spool faster so a tune would need to be done. There's also alot of other differences in designs like wheels shafts, thrust bearings, so ya to be on the safe side I would tune it. And def tune after bumping up injector size

^ I agree ,different companies have different turbos. For example, that's why XX turbo makes ~50hp more than XX turbo sometimes, even if they have same exact a/r,size,etc. They could have different housings, anti-surge vs standard, some companies impellers stick out more into the housing making more power . Now it may not be 100% necessary from swapping the turbos, but swapping the injectors makes it 100% necessary to re-tune.
