Blown engine pics: Diagnosis, and are the pistons still good?
#4 piston blew at the track, 22lbs in 4th gear between 6k and 7k rpm. It sat for about a month before I pulled it apart, so that's why that piston looks kinda rusty - crap transferring over from the sleeve. Also the rings on that piston are stuck, again I think it's from crud buildup from sitting.
Block look reuseable? How would I unstick the rings if the piston is still good?
Thanks for looking
Gratuitous video of the car including footage of the engine blowing:

#3 piston, to compare

i know how you feel, i blew my **** up at the track, but mine went in 2nd gear, and i had to push it off the track. cracked my #3 in 2 spots, and came to a "V". a piece about 3 inches at the top, and about 3 inches down.
honestly, just buy one new pistons, rings, and bearings. you dont wanna get everything together, and have a premature failure because you wanted to save a little money.

I'm going to get it sleeved and yes I'm getting new 84mm pistons, rings, and bearings... not sure where that misconception came from... just wondering if the pistons themselves (NOT the rings) are reusable. ie, would I be OK to sell them
I was just curious what people thought of the bearings as well. No intention of reusing them at all.
I'll clean the #4 up and post some pics in a bit.

They'd be good for $50, since rings are $100, and I'd sooner run OEM cast than used/possibly broken forged. They will probably be fine though.

The fact that you aren't going to run them again should tell you whether or not you should sell them.

Nooo, the fact I'm not going to run them again should be obvious since I'm going 84mm and they're 81.5 mm It's not a comment on my perception of their condition.
