Default blown turbo?

now heres a question, if you have a brand new un-used turbo can the seals go bad from just sitting there.

i was going through the turbo stuff for my build and was looking at the turbo and some oil had leaked out into the exhaust housing.

could this just be because it sat there and seeped by the seal, or is it cause the seals are bad?

i want to know before it put it on the car and then have to take it off to get it resealed.

If you let is sit there dry it cold go bad. You always want to keep oil in the cartridge when storing it.

Another thing, if it has oil and you see it on the turbine housing and wheel in most cases you'll be ok. I say put it on.
