Default blow-off valve maintenance

I have a Greddy BOV and it either makes no sound when I let off the throttle after boost or very low audible sound. When I first got it the sound was alot louder. Is there a way I can fix it or should I just trash and buy a new one? I looked at it and ran my fingers through it and everything seemed ok.

it could possibly be a boost leak. i noticed that mine got quiet all of a sudden. then when i actually paid attention to my boost gauge, i was leaking. fixed the leak and the bov went back to normal.

some light air tool oil won't hurt, you sure you got a greddy one right, and not an "ebay special, greddy style one"
