Default block guard install

I am debating whethor or not to buy a block guard for my d16z6 I am in the process of rebuilding for turbo and it is going to be a daily driver.....are they worth it for what I am doing I am only going to be running 7 psi of boost and thougth It might be some cheap insurance...but my question is how do you go about installing the things is it something a machine shop should do or do you just slap it in there ?? thanx

Blockguards work extrememly well, if you are doing a rebuild, definately get one. You can just hammer it in yourself, but make sure that you install it before you take your block to have the machine work done. If you do it after the machine work or while the motor is assembled, then the cylinder walls will be distorted and the motor will be ruined.
