Default blitz bov concerns

Ive been experimenting different lines for the vacuum hose...and my bov really doesnt seem to be sounding...you can tell its letting off air, and my w/g produces a fluttering type noise when shifting...
then i found this on a site and got quite confused

"Sound:

Extremely loud single flash of air w/ horn.

Sound can be lowered by removing horn.

Listen: (Idle Rev)

Listen: (Driving)

Notes: Keep away from the older series as they are slower to respond and have problems with flapper type AFM systems. This valve can be routed back into the intake stream but would require a custom welded flange."

so does that mean that i have to have a horn for the bov to work? that just doesnt make sense to me

anyway, heres the site..tell me what you think

i have this BOV. I didnt choose it however. When I ordered my DRAG kit from Import Parts, I was told I was getting an HKS SS but they sent me the Blitz. Im not fulllly satisfied with it, yet im not disappointed with it. I agree, it is kind of hard to hear...especially since Im only running around 6.5 psi. I think with more boost, it will be nicer. But I do have to admit it lets off a nice flutter once the car is above like 6000 rpms.

If you dont have the horn I dont think it will be too audible

also also- try playing around with the setting of the screw on the top...that helped me a lot!

hmm...yeah its really not noticable...
does yours make a difference with the pressure screw in or out? somehow mine fell out, probabl due to rattle...you wouldnt happen to know the size of the screw would you??

also, just to add im running about .5 bar...which i think is about 7 psi...correct me, im not for sure

i dont think the blitz one makes alot of noise unless your running higher boost.

Check there. It shows about what the different levels and how to adjust w/ the internal WG like we have.

jB

BTW, do you have a boost guage? If not, get one so you know what's going on at least. Tightening will increase boost, loosening will decrease boost...

so to adjust an internal you move the nut farther from the end...does that mean you would in turn do the same for an external w/g...move the nut farther down on the screw?

I have the Blitz BOV on mine at 7 PSI, and it's not as loud as I expected. I've heard it on cars pushing 15 pounds and it sounds a lot better.

BTW - 1 Bar = 14.5 PSI
1 Atmosphere = 14.7 PSI

FYI: 1 bar is 14.503774 psi
People just round it off to 14.5 for simplicity.

i finally got mine working correctly....from what i gather the top screw is a pressure screw that determines how much pressure it takes to push the bov open...
it works good now...not a loud sound though...more of a suttle pssshhh sound
