Blew a spark plug at the track
I'm shooting a 75 wet shot, with ZFR6F-11 (one step colder) NGK copper plugs gapped at .035, and stock timing (no retarding necessary according to the manufacturer).
When I checked each plug individually, the one in cylinder #3 had the prong broken off. Part of the ceramic that surrounds the copper core was chipped. The car ran fine because the electrode itself was still intact and a little piece of the prong was still sticking out. Do you guys think I should go one step colder or am I misdiagnosing? I would think that the plug couldn't withstand the heat.

10-15% leakdown on that cylinder now.
That piece was MELTED off.
75 shot requires 2-4 degrees retard from stock base setting.
What kit are you using?????
NX or NW?

that was very smart using only one stage colder, if youused two stages colder the plug wouldnt have melted, the piston/ring would have gone on you. now work on fuel and timing, try a few degress of retard and throw more gas at it. stick with the same plugs or try the Zex plugs dont know why but they say they are developed for spray.

How many degrees colder are NGK-BKR6E colder than stock???....Are these safe to use with 75 shot zex kit, .34 gap and 14 degree timing??

Re: Blew a spark plug at the track (Mista Bone)
--I'm using the Nitrous Works kit
--The plug looks more like it was broken, but like I said the copper core was still intact.
--What would decreasing the gap do? Like going from .035 to .040. After the first run when I installed the kit (used new plugs too) I inspected them and noticed they were black so I figure I'm running rich.
--And as far as adding more gas..I'm already getting too much nitrous bog.
