It's not aluminum finish, it's aluminum. Do ever know what you are talking about?

Oh yeah I forgot to add that they use aluminum because it dispells heat very well, not because it's silver.

Planck's Law:

"This is a derived formula, from the German physicist Max Planck, that portrays the amount of radiation emitted by a blackbody as theoretically determined by its temperature. It is an equation that produces a curve, termed Planck's blackbody radiation curve, which illustrates that the warmer a body is, the greater is its blackbody emission at each wavelength and the shorter is the wavelength at which emissions peak."- http://www.webref.org/chemistry/p/planck_s_law.htm

A black color will enhance emmisivity, but the thickness of the synthetic coating(i.e. paint/powder coat) may reduce the ability to transfer heat more that the black color would help emmisivity. Enter anodization, which increases the emmisivity of the aluminum without the possible caveats of insulating properties.

Look out Bill Nye the sciece guy!!!!!! MUFFIN'S COMIN'

Even if you do paint your IC, your only painting the front. Only the front 1/4" of the fin's will be painted, that still leaves plenty of unpainted aluminum to cool the air (eventhough it makes unnoticable differences).

ok *******.. actually they used aluminum cuz its cheaper and somewhat efficient still, and copper are costly, copper transfer heat alot better then aluminum...which means would it would dispell heat alot better.. know your facts ***...dont be so **** about thing.. i can play that game too ... do you kno what your talking about?... and when i say about overspraying.. is cuz of paint drips.
