Default big boost (30psi)?

Hey everyone ive never posted before but have read around for about a year now im getting pretty serious about building a motor now and have a '95 accord sedan 5spd vtec f22b1 dumped (like 1.5 in off the ground) cf hood painted factory lips white (color of car) and sprayed the factory alloy seven spoke wheels gunmetal hopefully can post pics eventually ive thought about boosting this from wat ive heard they can safely hold but im thinking i should just going with the jdm look and keeping for a daily driver because i just bought a b20z2 block and am thinking of building a sleeper weekend car with 30psi i will definately go with a vtec head and lsd tranny and plan on putting in an eg how possible is it to bore, stroke, sleeve, and completely build the motor with a 8.8 cmp ratio at probably 2.3 or 2.4 Ltr and be able to hold 30psi yes no any help? thx

why 30PSI...i hate when people say they want so and so PSI...it's HP you want as a goal. You will need some SERIOUS cash to do this...sounds like a thought and not a reality to me. you need sleeves/pistons/rods/ported head/balanced crack.....and the list just goes on and on. This is waaaayy too general of a question. Quite a few people have put down some serious HP like 650+. Remember this is useless on the street (no traction past 300-350whp). Anyway, I'll be the first to say go ahead and search..if your serious about this you'll need to learn a lot so start reading...that'll get you were you want to be.

BTW Welcome HT!

They will still be laughing at you as they blow by you wihle you sit there spinning with your 750WHP on the street. Anythnig like that is requires slicks to put the power down safely. Rethink your goals. Your goals are UNREALISTIC when all you wanna do with it is not look bad infront of the V8 guys.

Have you even driven say, a 300WHP Turbo Honda? If so you would know what I'm talking about.

Not for the street..

Take a ride in a 300whp honda and you'll change your mind about this 800hp for the street bullshit..You'll have a dyno queen and that's all..

heh? No. we're just saying you don't need 700whp in a honda. That kinda number is ridiculous unelss you are all about getting taht quick 1/4 time and like to brag. 300WHP honda is MORE then enoguh to take msot things uot there.

if you are serious about this, the go for it, but first:

1. dont worry about the 300whp is enough in a streetcar bullshit because that is not true (to some extent, but not really...but you will have traction issues until highway speeds with 700+whp without slicks)

2. read what you can find regarding all this...mainly building motors, engine managment, turbo selection, etc.

3. get a lot of money together because you will need it

4. do it right and dont cut corners

5. finish what you started and dont give up or get discouraged

6. most importantly find a good shop in your area or somewhere else for that matter to take care of building the car unless you plan on doing it yourself

by the way if you really are serious, then it will be good to see someone else do this...thats what I am going for too

good luck

ok sorry to butt in ,but here it goes first when people say they want a 300 hp street car that is very very possible , but 300 hp in a accord(prelude) and 300hp in a civic is night and day. If you want to have a fast street/strip car go lightweight big power, meaning civic/crx/delsol, keep your accord as a daily driver, find a 4g civic/crx for cheap and drop in the b20 and just buy some pistons, rods, and go for a big t3/t4 turbo setup. This will easily hit 250hp on a bad day, and with a little work up to 400hp with work. The only thing you will have to work on is traction which is completely trial and error , but i would not suggest any wheel size bigger than 15 inches, widest possible tires,LSD,6-puck clutch, and a quality coilover suspension. In short read up and ask questions, a good place to start is endyn's articles, which now include an allmotor 294hp 2.0liter, and valuable build info.
