Best pistons for the money on low boost(tried search)
Well i tried searching for this but search isnt working for me for some reason. I just fried my rings so now im going to get new pistons and a blockguard. What are the best pistons for the money? Theyre going in a b18a thats never gonna see more than 14psi. And do they come with everything needed for instalation...like rings and wristpins and such? Thanks for the help.

STOCK is your best bet. if you are only boosting up to 14psi then stock. Whats the pt of buying aftermarket parts if you are not going to be boosting 14psi+. I rather go stock interns and spend the money on your fuel managment (hondata).

I would go with JE's, CP's or Wiseco's... They are all really nice pistons and will hold up just fine... Good Luck

Where can i find the best prices on these pistons? Also...i know that eagles arent supposed to be the best pistons for turbo...but do you think theyll be ok for 14psi? I just want something thats cheap cuz i dont see the need for paying for those high dollar pistons when ill never boost above 14psi. Thanks

Re: Best pistons for the money on low boost(tried search) (sCeRaXn)
I'd rather run inexpensive Eagle rods and stock LS pistons than stock LS rods and (insert brand name here) pistons with low to medium boost. Due to the lower rpms and the lower headflow, you make more torque with the LS than the VTEC engines, and as such the stock rod is extremely taxed. You probably have something a little off in your setup that just needs upgraded/tweaked, and is the reason why you broke some ring lands.
In such a setup, if you run a conservative AFR, tune your ignition via dyno to ensure there is no detonation, and have no problems in your fuel delivery the stock pistons should last longer than any forging. Forgings cold-piston-slaps your bore out of round after ten thousand miles or so, I'd save them for a drag/dyno queen. They have no place in a street car where the most you can get to the ground is 300-350 whp.
Feel free to take my $0.02 with a grain of salt, bro, I did drink one beer before posting this

Eagles can be had for sub-$350 prices plus shipping. They are good to 500 whp or so without upgrading their regular rod bolt, and are good far past that once you have.

Re: (sCeRaXn)
damn sorry guys, but i think they raised the price since the last time i bought from them. Ross Pistons are now $369, which honestly isn't that expensive since they are quality pistons!! here's the website if anyone care:http://www.importperformanceparts.net/
or you can visit the homepage flatlanderracing.com.
they've got pretty good prices

Re: (Suprdave)
on a b18a, unless hes running some ungodly sized turbo, @ 14-15psi he prolly will be making ~300whp. As Jdavis said, asuming everything else is in order, theres no reason why a stock piston wouldn't last. Its hard to say since he lists his goal as 14psi, when everyone really needs to know the power he wants to make.

Re: (Mpir3)
Well i dont really have a HP goal...i just want to run 12psi daily and 14psi at the track. What im wanting to do is get some aftermarket rods and stock pistons, blockguard, completely rebuilt with stock bearings, seals and gaskets...and maybe a slight porting of my head. Im prolly gonna use a stock hg with arp head studs. I just want a mild street tune with with conservative a/f and timing. So whatever hp i can get out of that will make me happy. Ill be running the same turbo setup as before...t3/to4e 57trim 60a/r with revhard mani, hks ssq, spearco ic, tial 38mm, rc440's(if they flow enough)...but this time im going hondata...**** an smc. So what do you think ill make with this setup? And any suggestions on ways to make it better would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that...but what im saying is that i dont really have a power goal. Whatever i make at 12psi ill be happy with....i just want a relatively quick car with a conservative tune. The hp isnt my biggest concern right now. I dont think that ill be making more hp than the block can handle so inot really worried about it. If you get what i mean .
