Default just installed walbro 255....have a question

i just installed my walbro fuel ump, and noticed that after installing and putting the seat back in, etc. the pump is much louder than the stock, i can hear it outside and inside the car, but its not overwhelming, is that due to it being able to push more fuel or do you guys think i may have a defective pump?
TIA for any help

aftermarket high volume pumps make alot of noise...

go figure, I like it, but I always have ringing in my ears anyways so... someone who does not have that problem would probably not like it after a while.

Does it go away once the car is running?

Also not sure if this is a myth but is it true that if you run less then a quarter of a tank ur car will kind of bog?

The ecu primes the pump for 2 seconds after you turn the ignition on and then stops untill the engine is cranking. Once the engine starts cranking it will continue running till the engine stops. If the engine were to ever stall it would run for 2 seconds after it stalled then turn off.

Did you upgrade the power to the pump?

When i installed my Walbro pump, i noticed significant tone variance when my turn signals were on. I also had weird bucking issues with the engine.

Someone advised using a dedicated power wire for the pump (ran off the battery, 8 or 10 gauge is fine). I used a relay off of the present wire. MY GOD the difference...

Yeah, the bastard pump is louder but its variance when the turn signals click is much lower. It also skyrocketed my fuel pressure to the point that i needed to modify my FPR!

So take it with a grain of salt, but i'd recommend upgrading the powerflow for the pump.
