ECU doesn't really matter so long as it's chippable.

sending an aem map to a hondata ecu? won't work... at all. two entirely different softwares

you'd have to manually input the values from the AEM map into the Hondata tables... and you'll have one major issue. The AEM EMS has larger resolution tuning maps (more breakpoints) than the Hondata does, so it wouldn't really work that well in the first place, as you'd have huge gaps in the entered data that the Hondata software would have to interpolate between cells

I guess I just assumed that people would figure it was a Honda. Just looking for some name brands is all.

and we gave you names

the only ecus that are a "plug in" unit would be the AEM EMS, AEM Infinity, chipped obd1 p28/p72, Hondata S300 (uses an obd1 honda ecu)

The rest like MoTec, ViPEC, HALTECH, EngineLab, Megasquirt 3, Megasquirt 3 Pro, Link, etc all require a totally new harness (some come with a flying lead harness that isn't terminated) so you would have to build the harness for each of the above mentioned ECUs to have them work.... They don't use stock ecu plugs.

And if your car is OBD2 then that means you have to remove the custom harness and replace it with the stock ecu so you can pass emissions. You might be able to make an adapter harness to have the custom harness plug up to the stock ecu but you would have to replace every aftermarket/upgraded sensor with stock ones and you would have to splice in the OBD2 data port in order to pass emissions

you need to tell us what you budget is, what kind of "Honda" you're building (make, model, year), what you intend to do with the car, a full modification list, etc before we can even suggest an appropriate Engine Management System

That isn't going to help you. Simply knowing the names (without understanding functionality and pros/cons) is completely worthless...

-Hondata s100
-Hondata s200
-Hondata s300
-Neptune RTP
-Crome
-Crome Pro
-AEM
-Haltech
-KPro
-Megasquirt
-Motec
-Uberdata
-etc...

^^See how "useful" that was...

If you want help, we need to know something about the setup...without that, there's no helping you. Purpose, budget, goals, chassis, and other relevant details

Yes you can upload maps to a different aem ems. if that's what youre trying to say.

I can send you my map via email you can upload it to your ems and run it.

If its an older version map and you have a newer firmware you just have to convert the cal. its in the tabs on the top of the screen in aem tuner.
