Default T67 S2000 Build//PFAB//AEM//Bosch//TiAl

This thread is over in the s2000 forum as well..just hopped over here to see whats up..

Well, im sure you are probably wondering about the title, WTF? right?

let me begin with why i chose to use this title.

My first car was a 94 integra ls..basicially i did everything possible to it besides internal work. decided i wanted more, bought a gsr engine, took 2 years to build it, a 12:5.1 all motor setup. dropped it in the car, drove it til almost 300 miles. i wanted something more. ripped out the engine, sent it to justice race engines, had it sleeved 2.0L gsr darton mid sleeved, t4 t67 setup all that..bought a 98 ls with a h2b setup, wanted more, sold it, bought a s2000 and a new townhouse.

Sold the built sleeved gsr block head etc and all my turbo setup, bought a house and a s2000. so everything i start i dont like and or cant finish, therefore i decide to make this topic beginning of a failure, i think its pretty reasonable eh?

Well here's the new plans, new project, new setup, new car etc..

02' S2k Indy Yellow - 550 HP Goal

- Stock F20C Bottom End
- F20C Head Milled/Sonic Cleaned New Seals by Justice Racing
- ARP Head Studs
- Cometic .076" Head Gasket
- Precision 600 FMIC
- Bosch 1000cc Saturated Injectors
- Walbro 255
- Garrett t4/t67 1.00 a/r 67mm/84mm
- PFabrications Top Mount Log Manifold
- Pfabrications 3" Downpipe
- PFabrications Intercooler Piping
- Tial Q 50mm BOV
- Tial 44mm W/G
- Fast-Turbo Oil Lines
- AEM EMS
- AEM Wideband
- MAC Boost Solenoid
- Pneumatic Fittings for vac lines

So this project has gotten off to a good start, already installed the hg and studs bought the turbo, manifold, front mount some other odds and ends.
im pretty bored and decided to make a thread in my spare time that im not working at acura. Work has been VERY slow this year compared to the last. The economy sucks, we need a new President, and more people need to bring their Acura's in for service so Brian can complete his s2k..

yes, before you ask, i am a blu-ray *****, and i love playing rock band

only hand tightened bolts to clock the turbo for oil drain angle. will have to remove anyway to fit in downpipe im pretty sure..

Nice car, and nice setup except for that manifold. Log manifolds are absoutely the worst thing you can do to an S2K. You'll never make 550whp safely on a stock block and a log manifold. Hate to be the bearer of bad news. I've tested it time and time again and posted about it a hundred times. There is an easy 100whp difference between that log manifold and a manifold with a collector on that engine, not to mention a huge difference in knock limit.

I hate to get philosophical on a car forum, but if you go into it thinking it will fail, it surely will. Good day.

yeah, id agree w/tony... 350-400hp max on pump gas, especially w/the thick headgasket.

a log manifold is never a good idea, a thick headgasket is never a good idea.. 2 bad ideas in 1!

it looks bad *** though!

I finally feel like i'm not alone in the world of understanding the F20C!!!!

They don't like thick headgaskets!! Hell, as JDogg stated, no motor runs well with a thick headgasket.

11:1 with a thick gasket going to 9:1 is not the same as a proper motor with 9:1 pistons.

You should put the stock gasket on, put a decent manifold on it, and it'll easily make 550whp. Last one we did made 541whp at 18psi with a 35r, completely stock motor on C16.

yeah well guys.. ill see what i can get out of it. if im not happy, then ill do something better, but until then it will be fine. if i dont hit 500 hp so be it. regardless its a fun thing to do and spend your money on.

so what if its a log. it might not be as "good" as an equal manifold, it makes power.only time will tell with the results.

if i wanted a full out race car, i would have went equal length built the engine etc, but this car wil lbe fine for the street. thanks for the constructive critiscism though

Went with the fast-turbo top mount oil line kit.

i think im going to have to go with a 90* off of the pan and not at a 45 beausae i did not take in acount that the pan sits at an angle. so im going to order a 90* swivel and cut and trim the hose.

and yes the yellow bolts are just for fab, i will be visting fastenal on saturday to pick up some fasteners.
