the begining of the end "project boosted sohc slammer"
Well after a long winter of collecting parts getting parts fixed up and all that jazz I have finally started to put project boosted civic back together.
Some pics of the rebuild:
My head ready to go with a fresh polished top pan and fuel rail, cleaned and balanced 450cc injectors, and milled head (due to pitted areas).
My OEM honda HG coated with copper spray, oh yeah and my nice Arias pistons.
My oil feed from the back of my block (notice the honda oil filter......lol)
Head on ready to start the torquing sequence.
BTW my set up is this:
D16Z6 with semi ported Y8 head,
Arias pistons 8.7:1 comp,
450cc injectors
mustang fuel pump
Uberchip
Starion IC
TD05-14b snail
custom modified CX manifold (pictures to come)
1G DSM BOV

the oil pressure sending unit is unneccasary, unless you really need the dummy light....I haven't run one for a year now.

the oil feed from the back of the block goes to a distribution union and that where the oil pressure sending unit is and also the feed for my turbo, and my oil pressure gauge. I mount it to my strut tower and run the feeds from there.
That way I don't have to **** with the fitting on the back of the block every time I need to remove the oil line or pressure gauge or some thing. We all know that area of the block is sensitive and there has been more that one story about cracked fittings and cracked threads............me included.
I'll be posting more pics as the process continues right until I fire it up and drive for the first time the summer.
Hopfully I'll beable to hit the dyno in early July and the track before that.

I'm just running the stock rods right now. I'll push them to the limit.
I was running 8psi last year but I had so many damn problems that I swore the winter I was taking every thing apart and that it wasen't going back on the road until it is absolutely ready. That also meant spending the money on better fuel management and some more items.
I'm going to run the limits of the stock Map sensor the summer which is 11psi. If my fuel management pans out good then I may go with a GM 2bar and try 14psi maybe. But I know with the stock rods that may be a little to much.

Re: the begining of the end "project boosted sohc slammer" (GOLDBERG)
the HG is coated with copper spray for extra sealing capacity.
My compression was 8.5:1 before I blew my motor, after that I had to get my head milled to cleanup some pitting and hot spots. That milling brought my compression up to 8.7:1.

8.7:1 is probably a little too low to run 11psi with great results. You would make much better power on 9.5:1 unless you want to run extremely high boost.

The burner cost me approx $55 shipped (for the parts kit, put it together yourself) plus I got the power supply for around $20 at radio shack. Better than the Pocket Programmer which costs...well, I can't remember but it's a LOT more.
