i am doing a D series turbo setup and am trying to use a HF mani with a T3 52 trim turbo. i got the adapter plate for the mani, when i put it together i could only put 3 bolts in the turbo bolting to the adapter, one bolt hole is so close to the turbo exhaust housing i cant fit a bolt in it to thread into the adapter. so there is one problem, the other problem is when i put the mani on the head with attached turbo the internal wastegate actuator really hits the block alot, the mani will not even bolt to the head. i read that you can relocate the actuator but i dont see how that is possible. also will clocking the turbo do anything for the placement for the actuator? it hits too much to try to shave the block.

to eliminate these problems i was thinking of just buying another manifold. i was looking at the tubular style manifolds but dont know what to get as far as quality but i need cheap also. any suggestions would be great.

2nd one looks like an SSAC one. Hasn't heard anything about the first one.

I personally was looking into cc-fab manifolds and maybe getting a lovefab log for my d-series project. Little more money but the peace of mind is worth it.

 

Check out tunertoys.com they have a build it yourself log manifold. It seems really good for the price and you can adjust it for clearance issues. The only prob is u have to know how to weld and u need some fabrication skills.

It looks like the wastegate would work better if in was in the middle of all the cylenders like at the collector instead of just being directly on of tube?

well there is no real collector on a log style manifold. so it was either get a tubular from Ebay that will crack all the time or this one that is guaranteed against cracks for life.

ccfabs are definately worth it

 

CCfAg is a llama and has horrible service and quality is not anywhere near what he claims.

do yourself a big favor...
Get yourself a Drag or revhard manifold that has a t-3 flange and be doen with it. they offer lifetime warrant, are cast so they don't crack or elak as easly like tubular one and will allow you to keep your AC. I have a SC-50 BB turbo on my project car and running AC and using a Drag manifold with an external gate, so you shoudl be fine.
